For more than 30 years since its establishment in 1991, the company has been importing Japanese and other Asian foodstuffs into the UK through its own channels, wholesaling to restaurants, hotels and other businesses, and retailing in shops. In recent years, we have also focused on online sales, and are constantly striving to offer the largest selection of products at the lowest prices available anywhere. Since its establishment in 1743, the company has been brewing sake in Mikagego, one of the five Nada-go regions in Hyogo Prefecture, which boasts the largest production of sake in Japan. The company brews diverse and refined sake by combining traditional handcrafting techniques developed over many years with state-of-the-art machinery.
Hakutsuru sake is also the No. 1 exporter of sake overseas, delivering sake and Japanese culture to 55 countries around the world. Nippon Nishiki rice (original sake rice) is used by other companies such as Takagi Sake Brewery (Jushiyo).

Our management philosophy in overseas expansion is to link Japanese producers with overseas consumers through a stable supply chain. We are also embarking on high-yield, low-cost production, utilising the cultivation technology and know-how developed by JA Zen-Noh. It also aims to provide the delicious rice that overseas consumers demand, while ensuring farmers' income. Zen-Noh has partnerships with 40 major rice mills across Japan, each of which has acquired HACCP/FSSC 22000 certification for rice production.
